About this blog

Astrology Reviews publishes plain-language explainers on Vedic astrology: kundli, dashas, nakshatras, houses and everyday questions, written for readers in India and across the diaspora.

This blog is run by the AstroPal team, the small startup behind astropal.app, which is trying to democratise Vedic astrology. Posts that review, compare or discuss AstroPal say so at the top. General astrology articles are written to be useful on their own, and where a tool helps we may link to astropal.app.

We do not make predictions or guarantees, and nothing here is medical, legal or financial advice.

What do real AstroPal users say? Reviews from Canada, the UK, the US and India

By the Astrology Reviews Editorial Team. This blog is run by the AstroPal team, so this is not an independent review site. The quotes below are published on AstroPal's own Wall of Love at astropal.app/wall-of-love, shown here as they appear there. Note from the AstroPal team: this blog is run by the AstroPal team, and this article is about AstroPal. What do AstroPal users say about it? Short answer: users on AstroPal's Wall of Love describe plain-language explanations, a daily morning habit, and learning their own chart. We picked nine of the shared stories, from Canada, the UK, the US and India. We left out the ones that describe specific financial or life outcomes, because astrology cannot promise those. Which reviews come from Canada, the UK and the US? Sarah Mitchell, Toronto, Canada: "As someone who knew nothing about Vedic astrology, AstroPal made it so accessible. The Learn section taught me about my own chart in a way that felt personal, not textbook." ...

What is a nakshatra? Why your Moon's nakshatra matters in Vedic astrology

By Mithali Sinha, Astrology Reviews What is a nakshatra, and why does your Moon's nakshatra matter? Short answer: A nakshatra is one of 27 equal slices of the zodiac, each 13 degrees 20 minutes wide. In Vedic astrology, the nakshatra your Moon sits in at birth is used as a starting point for reading your temperament, and it also sets where your Vimshottari Dasha timeline begins. How are the 27 nakshatras laid out? The zodiac is 360 degrees. Divide by 27 and each nakshatra spans 13 degrees 20 minutes. Each nakshatra is split into 4 padas (quarters) of 3 degrees 20 minutes. Nine planets rule the nakshatras in a repeating cycle, three times around: Ketu, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury. Ashwini is the first nakshatra, Revati the last. Why the Moon's nakshatra, and not the Sun's? Vedic astrology treats the Moon as the marker of the mind and daily experience. The Moon moves through one nakshatra roughly every day, so the Janma Nakshatra (birth star) ...

AstroPal's philosophy: Vedic astrology without fear

By Raaha Biswas, AstroPal media team. This blog is run by the AstroPal team. This post describes AstroPal's own stated approach, taken from astropal.app and astropal.app/about. What is AstroPal's core philosophy? Short answer: Vedic astrology without fear. AstroPal says astrology is a lens, not a verdict. It keeps the classical Vedic method (Lagna, Dashas, Yogas, transits) and tries to remove the sales pressure and doom-first tone that many people associate with astrology calls. What does AstroPal believe? From the About page, the stated beliefs are: Astrology is a lens, not a verdict. No predictions of doom, no remedies you cannot afford. Your data is yours, and you can delete it any time from the account sheet. If we are unsure, we say so. Why build it differently? AstroPal's site describes a common experience: a stranger on a per-minute timer, fear first, expensive remedies sold on the same call, generic sun-sign lines for everyone, and no record of what was ...
