AstroPal's philosophy: Vedic astrology without fear

By Raaha Biswas, AstroPal media team. This blog is run by the AstroPal team. This post describes AstroPal's own stated approach, taken from astropal.app and astropal.app/about.

What is AstroPal's core philosophy?

Short answer: Vedic astrology without fear. AstroPal says astrology is a lens, not a verdict. It keeps the classical Vedic method (Lagna, Dashas, Yogas, transits) and tries to remove the sales pressure and doom-first tone that many people associate with astrology calls.

What does AstroPal believe?

From the About page, the stated beliefs are:

  • Astrology is a lens, not a verdict.
  • No predictions of doom, no remedies you cannot afford.
  • Your data is yours, and you can delete it any time from the account sheet.
  • If we are unsure, we say so.

Why build it differently?

AstroPal's site describes a common experience: a stranger on a per-minute timer, fear first, expensive remedies sold on the same call, generic sun-sign lines for everyone, and no record of what was said last time. Its answer is five design choices.

  • Your chart, not someone else's opinion. The answer comes from your chart, not from one astrologer's view of how your life should go.
  • One flat price, no meter. No per-minute billing, so there is no reason to stretch a conversation.
  • The same depth for every user. You do not have to pick an astrologer first.
  • Memory. It remembers your chart and earlier conversations, so you do not explain yourself twice.
  • Try before you pay. Free questions arrive daily: 3 on signup, then 1 every day.

What does "democratising astrology" mean here?

AstroPal describes its mission as putting astrology within everyone's reach rather than behind a paywall. In practice that means a free Academy at astropal.app/learn (8 courses, chapters 1-2 free to everyone, the rest with a free account, with certificates), a free personalised rashifal, and free charts for the people you add as friends.

How does it treat privacy?

The site says it was built privacy first: your data is never sold, your contact details are never shared, and card or financial records are not stored on its systems. Read the privacy policy on astropal.app for the full terms.

Who is this for?

Anyone who wants Vedic astrology explained in plain language, including Indian families abroad in Canada, the UK and the US who want a calm, structured way to understand a kundali, dasha periods and daily timing.

FAQ

Does AstroPal promise outcomes? No. Its own stated position is that astrology is a lens, not a verdict.

Is it free? You can start free: 3 questions on signup, 1 more each day, and the Academy courses. Reports such as Career or Wealth are separate.

Where do I begin? If you are new, start with chapters 1-2 of the free Academy at astropal.app/learn.

An illustration of how AstroPal explains a hard phase

Picture someone who asks AstroPal why their time feels bad and why they feel anxious. The chart shows a Rahu Mahadasha with the Ketu Antardasha running inside it. In Vedic dasha logic, that pairing is read as a restless, unsettled stretch with a feeling of detachment, and it ends on a known date. That fits the idea above: the chart is a lens on a phase, not a verdict. This is an illustration, not a real person and not a prediction. You can try it on your own chart at AstroPal.
